Culinary trip to the North Fork

A recent weekend trip to the northern tip of Long Island revealed the most delightful assortment of culinary treasures – An artistically (and humorously) decorated lunch truck in the parking lot of an upscale  organic eatery in Southold that offers take away gourmet lunch fare at its finest and a bakery in Greenport specializing in stunning and super tasty cookies, and other assorted baked goods, beautifully wrapped gourmet chocolates as well as amazingly artful fashion-design-inspired custom cakes …

The North Fork Table & Inn – a high end eatery started by some former Gramercy Tavern folks worthy of a long drive for a more formal evening or celebration worth savoring!

The Lunch Truck (in the back parking lot of The Inn) – with the same chefs as the North Fork Table & Inn, this quirky lunch truck is the best deal for high end take-away for miles. We recommend the lobster roll, of course!

Sacred Sweets – started by two ladies who are also best friends who gave up their old careers for the dream of making edible art together in this lovely seaside community.  Not only are their creations unbelievably beautiful, but the flavors at Sacred Sweets are extremely gourmet and original, as well  – with the likes of cardamom, merlot, black peppercorn cherry and vanilla ginger topping the list of our absolute favorites.

I think you’ve just discovered for my future wedding cake. Thank you M&J and Sacred Sweets.
